Dear BYP Yogis,
Finally, spring has arrived!! Buds are beginning to appear on trees and flowers are about to blossom. A benefit of practicing yoga is a heightening of the senses, making the colors and smells of spring especially delightful. We hope you'll channel the renewing energy of the arrival of spring into your Bikram yoga practice.
Testimonial: How has Bikram Yoga Changed Your Life?
Science of Bikram Sequence - Hands to Feet Pose
In March, we also held another Special Posture Class to help you improve your practice by individually correcting postures based on your existing conditions and body proportions. Don't worry if you missed it. You can sign up for the next one. In April, two of our BYP family members, Yajaira Velonquz and Monica Kim, are going to the Bikram Yoga teacher training at Desert Springs, CA. After 9 weeks' intensive training with Bikram himself, they will have solid foundation to teach classes at our studio. Wish them luck!!
Yoga develops flexibility and strength in your mind and your body. Learn to expand your consciousness and open your sensitivity through Bikram Yoga practice.
Hope to see you soon! Eune and Sean

Testimonial from a BYP family member
Wanda Shoer Constant Bikram Yoga practice cured my asthma.

I've been practicing Bikram @ Palisades Park for several months and have nothing but great things to say about the studio, the instructors, and everyone I've met so far. About a month ago, I made a commitment to practice Bikram at least four times a week. It was important to me after losing my job that I use this transition time to get in touch with my body and the things I love to do. I knew that I enjoyed Bikram, and began the practice because I thought it was a great way to stay in shape. I was pleasantly surprised when I not only started noticing a better body, but also a much more relaxed and happy attitude, a lot more energy, and best of all, a huge improvement in my breathing. I am an asthmatic, have been all of my life, and have always had to limit my workout activities because of my asthma. Normally needed to use an inhaler twice a day - the last four weeks I have not had to use my inhaler at all. I credit this to the regular yoga practice, and I've never felt healthier or happier. I recommend Bikram to everyone I meet, and I am looking forward to continuing to improve my practice and my health at the studio.

Posture #2 Hands to Feet Pada-Hasthasana
Since the spine is not quite warmed up yet, you must approach this posutre in a slow, controlled manner. Gravity helps to pull and lengthen your spine. This is also a wonderful stretch for hamstrings. Blood rushes to the brain, synovial fluid in your joints begins to flow- this posture wakes up the body and does wonders for the lower back and spine.
Hands to Feet Pose stretches the spine and increases flexibility, as does Half Moon. Both poses firm and trim the lower body, where many problem areas, especially for women, reside. Pada-Hasthasana works the muscles, ligaments and tendons of the legs and improves circulation there as well. It also strengthens the glutes, and though this might not be as obvious, it strengthens the upper body and back: the obliques, deltoids and trapezius muscles.
